Weronika CHODAKOWSKA
Biographie

Weronika Chodakowska began studying piano at the age of 11 at the Frederic Chopin Primary School of Music in Warsaw with Prof. Tatiana Stępniak.

While studying at Chopin State School of Music, won numerous prizes at national and international piano competitions. These include Third Prize at the International Silesian Piano Competition in Zabrze, First Prize at West National Piano Competition in Szczecin and Third Prize at the International Piano Competition “Per aspera ad astra” in Kielce. In 2008 artist made her debut performing with many piano recitals in USA. In 2013 her performance of Piano Quintett in G minor op. 57 of Shostakovich was distinguished by the Jury of International Music Festival in Moritzburg. In 2018 pianist received the distinction prize at the International Music Competition “Ibla Grand Prize” in Italy. In the same year she was awarded by the Director of Zhytomir Philharmonic for her artistic achievements. In December 2020 Weronika won Third Prize at I International Online Piano Competition Gloria Artis. In February 2021 pianist received an Honour Prize at I International Piano Performance Online Competition. In June 2021 Weronika won Second Prize at 95th International Léopold Bellan Competition in Paris. 

In October 2017 Weronika Chodakowska graduated her Master Degree Studies at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Prof. Elżbieta Tarnawska and Prof. Ramiro Sanjines. The pianist cooperated with many outstanding pianists, including Vladimir Krainev, Anna Malikova, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Philippe Giusiano, Krzysztof Jabłoński and Vitalij Berzon. In recent years pianist began to develop her concert career, performing at many festivals in Poland and abroad. The young artist has performed in Concert Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw, in Teatro Cagliari, in Zhytomir Philharmonic, at the European Chopin Center in Sanniki as well as the soloist on the stage of Philharmonic in Kielce and Szczecin. Weronika Chodakowska performed in the Frederic Chopin Museum in Warsaw, three times at the famous “Chopin Festival in Łazienki” and at the 51. Festival of Polish Pianism in Słupsk.

Pianist cooperates with National Chopin Institute in Warsaw and with Polish Radio Chopin. Since 2017 performs as pianist at the educational project “Chopinoteka” in Żelazowa Wola. In the season 2018/2019 Weronika regularly performed in the National Opera in Warsaw at the project “Frederic’s Radio Courier” of Polish Radio “For Children” and Polish Radio Chopin. In November 2019 Weronika Chodakowska recorded music of polish composers published by PWM in notebooks “Music from Chopin’s country”. The project was realized as part of the 'Inspirational Culture' program and co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland. In 2020, commissioned by Polish Radio Chopin, pianist made the first recording of Stanisław Moniuszko's piano works in the history of phonography.
